Infraday Midwest 2025

Infraday Midwest 2025 was a high-energy, insightful day of meeting and listening to some of the top experts moving forward transportation, technology, digital data, utility management, waterways system transformation, civic art to everything infrastructure! I had the pleasure to talk about some of the fantastic work being led by Cook County Government Department of Transportation and Highways. It was an honor to share the panel with William Higgins, Richard Harnish, Robert A. Sinkler and moderated by Juliana Jovanoski, discussing the topic of Rebuilding Regional Mobility – Highways, Transit, Passenger Rail & the Future of Midwest Travel.

Major highlights of my talk included Invest In Cook program supporting a wide range of transportation improvements throughout the county, especially helping many communities that often lack resources to implement much needed projects. It is important to look at transportation holistically from bike and pedestrian accommodation, transit, freight, railroad to regular roadway reconstruction for an integrated system across all modes of transportation. With fast moving technology and new mobility solutions out on our streets, thinking through resiliency has become even more critical to create flexible and adaptable physical infrastructure.

Thanks, Ken Bauco for the invitation and putting together an excellent conference for the Infrastructure in Midwest!
