River-side Resort

Studio VIII – B. Arch (M. S. University, India)

Capturing maximum view of the river from the resort was the main guiding principle in the design of the riverside resort. The built form was oriented toward the riverside, with most suites having their balconies open to the river view. The basic form of the Resort was extrovert, connecting surrounding landscape views to the interior of the building. The business center and main entrance to the resort also opened to the river bank on the other side. The Business unit and Suits were connected through recreational areas like restaurants and bars, poolside, and outdoor landscaping. The open garden and restaurant connected the suits and business center with the river bank. As the site area was limited and so the vertical form was explored. Vertical built mass helped gain higher elevation for luxury suits overlooking the garden and river. The landscaping around the resort provided a soft connection of the building to the river.
